Proustite with Xanthoconite

La Rose Mine, Cobalt area, Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada

2.9cm x 1.6cm x .87cm

Ex. Bill Pinch

Ex. Dr. Fred D'Esopo Collection No. 1539

Description/Interesting Notes:

A fantastic example of proustite with xanthoconite from Canada!!! This specimen hosts a wonderful showing of intense, ruby red crystals of proustite in association with rare xanthoconite crystals!!! The proustite crystals are sharp, lustrous, gemmy, and have CHOICE bright ruby red color!!! The lively red color of the proustite crystals is further magnified by the white matrix directly behind the them!!! There is a small vug that hosts several submillimeter crystals of brownish-orange xanthoconite crystals as well!!! This specimen retains old labels from Bill Pinch and the D'Esopo collection!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 24th!!!
