Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely magnificent old time example of proustite from the Czech Republic!!! This specimen is comprised almost entirely of solid
proustite and is loaded with sharp, complex, highly lustrous proustite crystals in association with tiny crystals of argentopyrite!!! The
proustite crystals have deep red color with intense flashes and highlights of bright ruby red!!! The crystals have brilliant glassy luster and
highly complex faces and forms!!! There is a deep channel-like vug that is lined with crystals upon close inspection!!! There is also an area where
the argentopyrite crystals appear to be replacing a large crystal of proustite!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, one
can see the characteristic hexagonal forms of the argentopyrite crystals!!! This specimen retains an old label from the Durkos collection as well!!!
Simply an incredible old time example of this famed and sought after species!!!
The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JULY 28th!!!
