Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely magnificent, old time example of proustite from Canada!!! This specimen hosts numerous bright,
ruby red proustite crystals scattered about a network of complex safflorite crystals in association with some
tiny bladed crystals of of polybasite!!! The matrix is comprised of massive sulphides in combination with massive blades of
baryte!!! The proustite crystals have sharp, brilliantly lustrous faces with bright gem clarity and
intense ruby red color!!! The proustite crystals have sharp, acutely pointed terminations that give them a striking appearance
upon close inspection!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can see that there are numerous, highly complex
crystals of safflorite visible throughout the matrix!!! Although they cannot be seen in the pics,
one can also see some scattered groups of small, finely bladed polybasite crystals
that range in size up to 2mm!!! The proustite crystals are in fantastic condition and there is much more
proustite present than it appears in the pics!!! The color
of the proustite crystals is simply amazing in person - BRIGHT ruby red!!! Amazing old time material!!!
