Pseudomalachite Schuyler Copper Mine, North Arlington, Bergen Co., New Jersey 1.86cm x 1.53cm x .77cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of pseudomalachite from New Jersey!!! This long defunct historic locality holds the distinction as being the oldest mine in the United States, having been opened in 1715 (mining was closed in 1865)!!! The locality is now buried beneath homes and specimens are seldom seen on the market!!! This specimen hosts a dense coverage of lustrous green spheroids of pseudomalachite!!! The balls are uniform in size and upon close examination are seen to be rather translucent!!! The color is a very intense deep bluish green that is quite striking in person!!!
