Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of pseudomalachite from New Jersey!!! This long defunct historic locality holds the disctinction as being the oldest mine in the United States, having been opened in 1715 (mining was closed in 1865)!!!! The locality is now buried beneath homes and specimens are seldom seen on the market!!! This specimen hosts a dense coverage of lustrous green spheroids of pseudomalachite!!! The balls are uniform in size and upon close examination are seen to be somewhat translucent!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
