Pyrargyrite & Pearceite with Chalcopyrite Uchucchacua Mine, Oyon Province, Lima Department, Peru 2.62cm x 1.84cm x 1.44cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of pyrargyrite with pearcite and chalcopyrite from Peru!!! This specimen consists of a stout, complex single crystal of deep red pyrargyrite that is partially covered by a unique lattice-work of tiny, intergrown chalcopyrite crystals and paired with several brilliant, metallic, plate-like crystals of pearceite!!! The pyrargyrite crystal has terrific deep red color and marked translucence as well!!! The complex, lustrous faces and red color of the pyrargyrite are much more apparent in person!!! The networks of chalcopyrite crystals are raised up and away from the pyrargyrite crystal and you can see the pyragryite through all the gaps in chalcopyrite lattice-work!!! This unique feature is quite intruiging in person!!! There are several, significantly sized pearceite crystals prominently positioned on one side of the specimen and there are numerous groups of smaller crystals scattered about as well!!! There is a LOT more going on with this specimen than can be seen in the pictures and it is WAY better than the pics show!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
