Description/Interesting Notes:
An outstanding example of pyrargyrite from Germany!!! This specimen hosts
an incredible display of rich red crystals of pyrargryite in association with a lone stephanite crystal on a matrix
primarily comprised of argentopyrite!!! The broad face of this specimen hosts a rich coverage of highly complex, deep red
crystals of pyrargyrite!!! The crystals are highly complex and exhibit all manner of stepped modifications, curious forms, and
compound crystals!!! The crystals are in magnificent condition with sharp, lustrous faces, and choice red color!!! The red color
is quite lively in person and could almost be mistaken for proustite!!!
It is difficult to capture in the pics, but the crystals are in magnificent condition across the entire face!!! The specimen is very showy in person!!!
The matrix hosts a significant showing of tiny, complex, argentopyrite crystals throughout the entire specimen!!! The argentopyrite crystals
are easily discernable and eye-visible in person!!! The reverse hosts a single, highly complex stephanite crystal
(perhaps better described as
intergrown crystals) that is quite well formed with sharp, lustrous faces!!! This is an incredible specimen in so many regards!!! This
specimen retains several previous labels that note it has been in several previous collections (University of Delaware is noted on Ellis label) as well!!!
The pics don't even come close to doing this incredible specimen justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MARCH 17th!!!
