Description/Interesting Notes:
A remarkable, old time example of rare silver-bearing species from this seldom referenced locality!!! This specimen hosts a very rich showing of darkly colored
pyrargyrite crystals paired with sharp, gemmy, prismatic crystals of ruby red proustite, and complex somewhat skeletal networks of aguilarite!!! The
pyrargyrite crystals are present as sharply formed, unusually boxy, somewhat rectangular crystals and groups of crystals - both on the matrix and embedded within it as well!!! Upon close examination, one
can see the reddish highlights of the pyrargyrite in some small areas!!! The proustite crystals are scattered about the matrix, often closely paired with the other species and are present as
small but highly lustrous, very gemmy, ruby red crystals!!! There is one tiny, curious crystal that appears to be half pyrargyrite and then half proustite with a razor-sharp definition between the two (you can '
see this in the pics)!!! The aquilarite is present as complex, darkly colored, skeletal crystals
distributed throughout the matrix!!! There is an elongated, skeletal crystal
of aquilarite that runs along the top edge of the specimen as well as a significant box-work of crystals on one side of the specimen as well!!! In person the
skeletal nature of the crystals is much more apparent!!! There may also be some other rare silver-bearing species in association as well!!! Simply
an incredible, old time rarity!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 21st!!!
