Description/Interesting Notes: An amazing example of pyrargyrite from this Canadian locality!!! This specimen is comprised almost entirely of crystalline pyrargyrite radiating out from a small amount of matrix!!! The pyrargyrite crystals are highly lustrous and have showy deep red color!!! The crystals are much more prominent and sharply formed than the pictures show!!! This specimen is very impressive in person!!! The color is a rich red, however there is a characteristic and decidedly unique tone compared to other worldwide pyrargyrite specimens!!! Some of the lively red crystals show a flash of slightly orange-red and there has been some speculation that these could in fact be xanthoconite crystals (although this has not been confirmed)!!! This specimen is from the personal collection of Bob Jenkins and retains his original personal label as well as an old label from John Durkos!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
