Pyrargyrite with Polybasite West End mine, Tonopah District, Nye Co., Nevada 4.94cm x 3.37cm x 2.14cm Ex. A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum No. DM-3429

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic, old time example of pyrargyrite from Nevada!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of deep, ruby red pyrargyrite on matrix in association with polybasite and chalcopyrite!!! The broad face of the specimen is covered with a thick, dense mass of deep ruby red pyrargyrite and, upon close inspection one can see some minute, complex crystals of pyrargyrite scattered about and tucked in tiny recesses!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see several sharp, brilliant crystals of polybasite scattered about the specimen as well!!! There are also some tiny crystals of golden chalcopyrite as well!!! Upon close inspection in person there is a lot more to see than the pictures show!!! This is old time material that dates to the turn of the 20th century!!! This specimen is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and retains its original old label as well!!!
