Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic, old time example of pyrite and calcite from this classic Pennsylvania locale!!! This specimen hosts a showy cluster of brassy metallic pyrite crystals in combination with lustrous calcite crystals and networks of highly complex magnetite crystals!!! The pyrite crystals exhibit the complex features characteristic of this locality as you can see in the pics!!! The pyrite crystals are complete and undamaged all around!!! The calcite crystals have slightly rounded features with lustrous, highly complex faces!!! The calcite crystals have marked clarity as well!!! The magnetite crystals are present as elongated sprays comprised of highly complex, intergrown crystals as well as well defined octahedral crystals!!! There are some divergent sprays of elongated magnetite crystals that have a decidedly pseudomorphic appearance!!! Upon close inspection, one can see some minute areas of actinolite partially included in some of the calcite as well!!! This specimen is undamaged and complete all around!!! This specimen displays fantastically in person!!! This is a KILLER old time French Creek beauty!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
