Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of pyrite from this old, seldom referenced locale!!! This specimen hosts numerous sharp, complex octahedral crystals of pyrite in matrix!!! The crystals range from razor-sharp, textbook perfect octahedrons to highly complex, modified crystals that show some very peculiar features!!! The crystals are way better than the pics show (do not mistake complex features for damage!) and the crystals range in size to an impressive 2.6cm!!! Specimens from this locale are very scarce and matrix specimens are exponentially more so!!! This is old material from the personal collection of Howard Belsky and retains its original label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
