Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of pyrite from the Duff Quarry in Ohio!!! This specimen consists of a broad vug in matrix that hosts a magnificent showing of highly complex diploid pyrite crystals in association with white dolomite crystals!!! The pyrite crystals are sharp, complete, and pristine!!! The crystals have a brilliant metallic luster and a unique, warm brassy patina!!! These complex, diploid pyrite crystals are quite striking in person!!! This specimen came out of an old Ohio collection and was the best single example of this extraordinary find!!!
