Pyrite Summit of Rogers Pass, Glacier National Park, British Columbia, Canada 8.9cm x 5.2cm x 2.9cm Ex. Albert Peppis Collection No. E-74

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare and unique example of pyrite from the Summit of Rogers Pass!!! This specimen consists of a pair of amazing pyrite crystals perched in a matrix of slate!!! The pyrite crystals exhibit a most unusual, dramatically elongated and skewed habit - caused by intense geologic pressures - that resulted in acutely rhombic faces!!! Specimens from this locality are almost never seen on the market - and for obvious reasons!!! Author A.P. Coleman documented the unusual pyrite crystals from this locality in 1889!!! This is an exceptional example of pyrite from this locale and is simply dazzling in person!!! The luster, patina, and hue are simply gorgeous!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! This specimen is from the Albert Peppis Collection and retains his original label!!!
