Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of pyrite from Turkey!!! The pyrite specimens from Turkey have always been highly prized by collectors for their
sharp octahedral form and fine quality!!! Specimens from this locality are rarely seen on todays market however!!! While
the majority of pyrite crystals from Trabzon exhibit octahedral form - often with complex modifications, this specimen
exhibits an incredible - and rare - habit that appears to be a combination of pyritohedral and octahedral forms!!! This
specimen is complete all around and exhibits stunning geometry!!! There are a pair of interpenetrant crystals, exhibiting the
same complex form, protruding from the main crystal as well!!! It is difficult
to fully appreciate in the pics, however the crystal is complete and in magnificent condition all around!!! The crystal has brilliant
metallic luster and displays fantastically in person!!! Simply an incredible example of the species from this rare and sought
after locale!!! This specimen retains an old label from personal collection of Howard Belsky!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY AUGUST 16th!!!
