Description/Interesting Notes: An old time example of pyrite from South Dakota!!! This specimen hosts a handsome showing of pyrite crystals richly distributed across the broad face of this specimen!!! The pyrite crystals are present as complexly modified pyritohedrons prominently perched on the matrix!!! The crystals have sharply defined faces with brilliant metallic luster and unique, characteristically golden, brassy hue!!! Very striking in person!!! This specimen retains old labels from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and John Albanese as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
