Pyrite & Rhodochrosite Quiruvilca Mine, Quiruvilca District, Santiago de Chuco Province, La Libertad Department, Peru 5.85cm x 3.4cm x 2.53cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A wonderfully aesthetic combination of pyrite and rhodochrosite from Peru!!! At the Tucson Show, one of the Peruvian dealers had a small lot of rhodochrosite & pyrite combos - however almost all of them consisted of smaller pyrite crystals and what would best be described as "crusts" of somewhat amorphous rhodochrosite!!! There was just one specimen that we came across however that had both fantastic pyrite crystals and excellent rhodochrosite crystals as well!!! This specimen consists of a razor-sharp, mirror brilliant, golden crystals of pyrite that host a rich showing of sharp pink rhodochrosite crystals!!! This specimen is in magnificent condition and is absolutely stunning in person!!! The pictures don't even come close to doing it justice!!!
