Description/Interesting Notes: A rare example of pyrosmalite from Broken Hill!!! This specimen hosts several well defined crystals of translucent maroon colored crystals of pyrosmalite to well over 8mm!!! There is much more crystalline pyrosmalite present than the pictures show too, consisting of broad, platy crystal sections and complex crystalline segments!!! The majority of this specimen is comprised of pyrosmalite!!! The main crystal is well formed with glassy luster and marked translucence!!! Upon close inspection one can see some tiny, submillimeter spessartine garnet crystals scattered throughout the matrix!!! This specimen retains an old David New label as well!!!
