A fantastic quartz crystal from this very historic locality!!! The Dexter Quarry was started sometime around 1640 and holds the distinction of
being the eariest known mines in what would become the United States!!! The Quarry was formally closed in 1943 and specimens are scarcely seen today!!! This specimen
consists of a razor-sharp, doubly terminated quartz crystal!!! The crystal
is complete all around and exhibits numerous curious and highly complex features!!! The crystal had highly lustrous faces, gemmy clarity (more so than
the pictures show), and interesting yellow staining!!! The crystal has an old affixed catalogue number and retains an old label from the Fitton collection!!! The
pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
