Quartz on Jasper

Las Sabanas, Panama

10.6cm x 6.5cm x 5.9cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

An aesthetic specimen from a very rare locality - Panama!!! This specimen consists of a very colorul mass of jasper that hosts a rich showing of small, lustrous quartz crystals that have an exceptional green color!!! The small green crystals are quite impressive upon close inspection!!! The crystals are lustrous, gemmy, and have a surprisingly intense color throughout!!! Surprisingly, this specimen was originally labelled as a SCORODITE (on an old museum label!) however the crystals are so unique upon close inspection that it is not a surprise it got mistaken for something else!!! The jasper matrix shows a striking range of colors and patterns as well!!! This is old material and retains an old museum label as well!!! Mineral specimens of ANY kind are very scarce from Panama!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
