An unusual example of quartz indeed!!! This specimen consists of a "ball" of light purple amethyst crystals atop a "stem" of colorless
quartz crystals!!! Inside the stem, it is clear to see that there is a chalcedony stalactite that runs through the center!!! In addition, there are
curious turquoise blue inclusions as well!!! The amethyst "ball" hosts numerous tiny, dark needle-like inclustions as well!!! Looking at the bottom of the
specimen, one can clearly see the cross-section of the chalcedony stalactite within!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition and is quite lively &
showy in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
