Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic, old time example of quartz from Ouray!!! This specimen consists of a striking cluster of sharp quartz crystals in association with a small
amount of calcite!!! The quartz crystals have sharp, lustrous faces and range in clarity from translucent to gemmy!!! The crystals have "collars" of small quartz points that cover the
lower portion of their prism faces - a characteristic feature of the locality!!! There are also a few small calcite crystals perched
among the quartz crystals that consist of opaque white, doubly terminated scalenohedral crystals!!! This specimen is from an older
collection and has some minor damage, but as you can see, the terminations are razor-sharp and it still displays magnificently!!! This is a fantastic old time
Colorado quartz!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
