Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic, old time example of quartz with hematite from Cleator Moor!!! This specimen consists of a lustrous group of razor-sharp quartz crystals that host
rich inclusions of hematite, as well as a few scattered hematite crystals perched among them!!! The crystals have sharp, brillantly lustrous faces and the inclusions of
hematite are present as small, sparkling disc-like crystals, as well as microcrystalline phantoms that range in color from red to purplish gray!!! The crystals have
numerous selective zones of hematite phantoms as well as zones of smoky color!!! The variety and prominence of these selective phantoms was difficult to capture in the pics, however it
is quite striking in person!!! This classic old timer retains old labels from George English and the D'Esopo Collection (the "W.P." on the label indicates that Fred
D'Esopo acquired it from his friend and mentor Bill Pinch)!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Classic material!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
