Description/Interesting Notes: An incredibly unique, old time example of smoky quartz from Norway!!! This specimen hosts a highly complex single crystal of smoky quartz on a feldspar matrix!!! The crystal exhibits a remarkable habit that almost defies description!!! The crystal is completely terminated and is complete all around!!! It is almost so peculiar looking that it could possibly resemble another species - however, it is absolutely smoky quartz!!! There are two tiny fragments of an unidentified rare-earth species in association as well!!! This specimen came out of an old collection with a handwritten label that noted the locality as "first little pegmatite above farm on opposite side of road from Tuftane quarry"!!!
