Description/Interesting Notes: A most unusual example of quartz from this seldom referenced locality!!! This is a group of four individual crystals of doubly terminated "beta" quartz that has been replaced by chalcedony!!! This is a very unusual pseudomorph indeed - and from an even more unusual locality!!! While I have seen a handful of interesting specimens of chalcedony from Java (one of the ONLY things I have seen from Java) - I have never seen anything like this before!!! The crystals are all largely complete and still retain their characteristic beta-quartz habit!!! The crystals have marked translucence and exhibit some almost reverse-botryoidal features on their faces!!! The specimens simply need to be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Very rare and unusual old time material!!! This specimen retains and old label from the George Dick collection as well!!!
