A unique example of rhodochrosite from Peru!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of large, intensely colored scalenohedral rhodochrosite crystals
that are aesthetically covered by a thin, translucent coating of hyalite opal!!! These dramatic rhodochrosite crystals range in size up to 3.2cm!!!
The rhodochrosite crystals appear to have a core of magenta-red and an outer layer of deep cherry red!!! In addition to the hyalite opal coating
the rhodochrosite crystals, there are a few areas of bubbly-looking botryoidal opal present as well!!! The pics hardly do this unique and
showy specimen justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
