Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this rare species from Tsumeb!!! This specimen consists of a very rich mass of orange-reddish metallic renierite in association with other
unidentified rare species!!! The large majority of this specimen is comprised of renierite, however there are several other metallic species in
association - including some minor galena and tennantite but there are some others that could be rarer species and would warrant further testing!!! In
addition to the metallic species, this specimen hosts a network of fine cavities, some of which host an unidentified whitish species!!! While there is
some quartz present in some of these seams, the whitish material is relatively soft - as evidenced by the fact that the cavities appear to have "lost" material!!! There
is one corner of the specimen which appears that it would be easy to remove and expose a significant seam of this unknown material if one so desired!!! However,
unknowns aside, this is a fantastic renierite specimen in and of itself!!! The bottom of the specimen has been polished as well!!! This specimen came out of
an old rarities collection!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
