Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare and unique example of rhodochrosite with blue apatite, bertrandite, cookeite, and columbite, from Maine!!! This
specimen came from one tiny, ball-sized find at Mt. Marie!!! This specimen consists of an incredible
combination of pink rhodochrosite, blue
apatite, finely bladed bertrandite, yellow cookeite, and black columbite!!! The rhodochrosite is present as
very complex, highly etched, translucent pink crystals!!! The apatite is present as clusters of intergrown crystals that
have handsome blue color!!! The bertrandite is present as juxtaposed groups and sprays of
finely bladed crystals!!! The cookeite is present as surprisingly bright yellow
crystalline crusts!!! The columbite crystals are present as highly complex, blocky black crystals as well as scattered
microcrystals!!! The presence of rhodochrosite is simply amazing, as this species is very rare and highly sought
after from Maine!!! The bertrandite is rich and impressive in its own right - with significantly sized crystals
as well!!! The overall combination of species is nothing short of extraordinary!!!
We were lucky enough to acquire some of the finest specimens from this unusual, once-in-a-lifetime find (which only
amounts to a handful of specimens, all of which are very different indeed)!!! You do not want to miss out on this
rare and incredible opportunity!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
