Rhodochrosite with Calcite & Pyrite Broken Hill, Yancowinna Co., New South Wales, Australia 7.04cm x 4.4cm x 2.44cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of rhodochrosite and calcite from Broken Hill!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of juxtaposed, scalenohedral crystals of light, tan colored calcite that have been partially coated by sparkly, light pink rhodochrosite crystals with a small amount of pyrite in association!!! The calcite crystals have complexly modified scalenohedral habits with marked translucence and luster!!! The rhodochrosite crystals have a handsome light pink color (much better than the photos show!) and lively sparkle!!! This specimen displays fantastically in person!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
