Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent, old time example of rhodochrosite from Germany!!! Old time examples of rhodochrosite are quite scarce and very difficult to obtain today!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of pink rhodochrosite crytals in association with several quartz points and tiny pyrite crystals!!! The rhodochrosite crystals are present as lustrous, curved rhombs with handsome pink color!!! This specimen retains its original antique, glass lined museum specimen box as well as two old labels from Michigan College of Mines (today A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum) as well as an old Krantz label that dates to between 1850-1888!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
