Description/Interesting Notes:
A large, showy plate of pink rhodochrosite crystals from Peru!!! This impressive specimen consists of a gorgeous, pristine plate of finely crystallized rhodochrosite!!! The
front of this specimen is completely covered with small, sharp, oriented triangular crystals of rhodochrosite over a handsome, botryoidal layer of rhodochrosite!!! The
reverse of the specimen consists of a complex network of geometric, angular shapes covered by rhodochrosite!!! These curious forms were the result of long-since dissolved blades of
barite (although, you'll see there is a small amount of white barite still in association)!!! Upon close inspection, one can see that these angular forms are completely covered with
tiny rhombs of rhodochrosite!!! When viewed on edge one can see multiple concentric bands of rhodochrosite in various shades of pink!!!
This specimen is in superb condition all around and displays magnificently in person!!! Simply a gorgeous example of rhodochrosite from Peru!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
