Rhodochrosite on Romanèchite with minor Barite Lone Tree Mine, Buffalo Mountain District, Humboldt Co., Nevada 7.52cm x 3.37cm x 2.38cm

Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely magnificent example of rhodochrosite from Nevada!!! This specimen hosts several hemispherical crystals of intensely colored rhodochrosite on a starkly contrasting matrix of jet-black romanèchite!!! The rhodochrosite crystals have absolutely choice, intense red to orange-red color and a lively, glowing translucence!!! The largest single spheroidal crystal measures approximately 6mm while the groups are up to over 1cm!!! The large single crystal is not simply a hemisphere but is actually a truly spherical crystal perched atop small spires of romanechite!!! A truly incredible specimen indeed!!!
