A classic example of rhodochrosite from Japan!!! This specimen hosts a layer of botryoidal rhodochrosite atop a
thick section of concentric layers of gemmy rhodochrosite in association with galena and sphalerite!!! The top layer of botryoidal rhodochrosite has a
layer of microcrystals on top of it and the bottom of the specimen hosts vugs lined with tiny rosettes of crystals!!! The most striking feature is a thick
band of intensely colored, gemmy translucent rhodochrosite sandwiched between concentric layers of multi-hued pinks!!! Absolutely gorgeous!!!
Rare, classic material!!! This specimen retains an old Japanese label!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
