Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic example of rhodochrosite from South Africa!!! This specimen consists of a handsome cluster of slightly divergent
crystals of intensely colored, gem crystals of rhodochrosite!!! The crystals
exhibit complexly modified scalenohedral form and there are some microcrystalline crystals of an unidentified colorless to whitish
mineral scattered throughout the crevices between the crystals!!! The rhodochrosite crystals have
sharp, glassy faces and wonderful gem clarity!!! Although it is difficult to tell from the pics, this specimen
is in fantastic condition - several of the crystals show complexly truncated forms, however they are complete!!! The gemmy clarity,
intense red color, and lively internal fire are simply gorgeous in person!!! Classic
material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY AUGUST 2nd
