Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of rhodochrosite from a seldom referenced, old time Japanese locality!!! This specimen consists of a solid mass of banded rhodochrosite!!! The botryoidal surface has a variable, fleshy pink color while the subsequent layers vary considerably in color and clarity!!! The colors range from deep to light pinks and deep to light brownish pinks, and the clarity ranges from opaque to translucent!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Rare, old time material!!!
