Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of rhodochrosite from Franklin!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of pink, botryoidal rhodochrosite on matrix!!!
The rhodochrosite is present as finely formed pink botryoids with marked luster and slight translucence!!! Upon close inspection
with a loupe of a scope one can see areas that host rice grain-like crystals as well as areas among the botryoidal forms that
show similar crystalline detail!!! The rhodochrosite is in fantastic condition and displays quite handsomely in person!!! The
matrix appears to host some sphalerite among other unidentified species!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer
