Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely stunning rhodochrosite from Mexico!!! This specimen hosts a very gemmy, intense red, lustrous, 1.8cm crystal of rhodochrosite on a matrix of microcrystalline alabandite and in association with some tiny cubic crystals of pyrite!!! These Mexican rhodochrosites came out in the 1970's and I recently acquired a small group of them in an old collection!!! These specimens, that rival other South African beauties came from one small pocket I am told!!! The pics hardly do this specimen justice!!! A rare find indeed!!!
