Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of rhodonite from Sweden!!! This specimen hosts an impressive showing of sharp, rich pink
crystals of rhodonite in association with bladed crystals of hematite, lustrous andradite garnet crystals, and at least two other
unidentified species!!! The rhodonite crystals range in size up to over 8mm!!! The rhodonite crystals are sharp, glassy, and have
translucent to gemmy clarity!!! The hematite crystals are very well formed upon close inspection with a loupe or scope - consisting of
tabular blades with pronounced, sharp triangular faces with concentric striations!!! There are sharply formed
andradite garnet crystals present as well, some with marked yellowish clarity!!! There are also scattered crystals of an unidentified
acicular, hair like species that resembles actinolite or similar related species!!! Additionally there is a complexly etched single whitish
crystal perhaps with a complexly modified pseudo-octahedral habit that superficially resembles scheelite and fluoresces a bright blue under SW UV!!!
Upon further inspection there may be other unidentified species in association as well!!! This is old material that dates to the
late 19th century!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
