Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely exceptional, old time example of rhodonite and spinel from Franklin!!! This specimen consists of a large, dense cluster of fine, sharply
formed crystals of lively, rich pink rhodonite in association with octahedral crystals of dark greenish-brown spinel (dysluite)!!! THis specimen has an old A.E. Foote label
affixed to the underside (as well as a partial, old-tyle enamel label, and an antique price tag with a reasonable sum for its day!)!!! I must start off by saying that this
specimen is WAY better than the pictures show, both in terms of quality & fineness and in terms of richness of color!!! The color is a rich, deep pink that is quite
eye-catching in person!!! The crystals are very well formed with sharp faces and marked luster throughout!!! Some of the crystals show small areas of translucence as well!!!
The spinel crystals are much more significant too - with sharply formed, complete octahedral crystals ranging in size to well over 1cm!!! The specimen is comprised
almost entirely of crystalline rhodonite!!! The specimen displays magnificently from numerous angles and is in fantastic condition!!! This old time
classic is simply incredible in person!!! The pics don't even come close to doing this valuable and aesthetic old timer justice!!! Guaranteed to knock your socks off!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
