Description/Interesting Notes: A rare example of rilandite from the type and only locality in Colorado!!! Examples of rilandite are quite scarce - with the ONLY find being limited to material coating the surface of a petrified log on the claim of James Riland nearly a century ago!!! This specimen consists of a characteristic brittle, blackish colored mass!!! We acquired this unusual rarity when we acquired the dealer stock and partial collection of Howard Belsky several years ago!!! This specimen still retains Belsky's labelled box as well!!!
