Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of "roasted" gold from this historic Colorado locale!!! Much of the gold in this region was
found as telluride ores which miners then heated or "roasted" to drive off the tellurium and leave the pure gold behind!!!
This is an old time example of "roasted" gold that exhibits a particularly rich and showy display of gold!!! The ball-like blisters
of native gold are pronounced, significant, and richly scattered throughout the specimen!!! The gold is particularly bright and showy!!!
Upon close inspection, one can see sylvanite crystal-shaped cavities in the quartz matrix near some of the areas of gold!!! The sylvanite
that once occupied these cavities has long since been volatilized and left its precious gold behind!!! This specimen retains
an old label from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum with William Kelly collection notation!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 23rd!!!
