Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique, old time example of a rare "double pseudomorph" from Tsumeb!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of juxtaposed azurite
crystals that have been completely replaced by malachite and subsequently replaced by rosasite on a matrix of botryoidal cuprian
smithsonite!!! This is old Tsumeb material and retains an old museum label that identifies it as "Paraurichalcite" which
is an antiquated synonym of rosasite!!! The detailed museum label indicates that it was acquired on April 1, 1941 from the
Schortmann's!!! Some of the individual crystals appear to be partial casts with botryoidal rosasite visible within their hollow
cores!!! One can see that there is a layer of malachite under the rosasite and there are some small areas of cerussite within the
massive malachite as well!!! The bottom of the specimen is comprised of a layer of light green, botryoidal cuprian smithsonite!!!
This specimen is very colorful and aesthetic in person!!! Rare, old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 25th!!!
