Description/Interesting Notes:
A remarkable and unusual example of rose quartz from Missouri!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of sharp, lustrous quartz crystals that have a
rich pink translucence!!! This seldom referenced locality is named after the region's barite ore of the same name!!! Upon studying the reverse of this
specimen, you can see that there is a sharp zone of pink quartz that is sharply defined followed by a thinner outer layer of colorless quartz - the resulting look is
quite unique and attractive in person!!! Unlike rose quartz seen from other localities, the coloration is likely due to iron rather than manganese or titanium - however, when
seen in person you could easily mistake this for a fine Brazillian rose quartz at first glance!!! The color is a perfect rose quartz pink with homogenous translucence!!!
This is a remarkable specimen indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
