Description/Interesting Notes:
A very rare example of roweite from Franklin!!! This specimen consists of a portion of tan
colored clinochrysotile that hosts some small groups of rare roweite crystals!!! The roweite is present
as somewhat radiating, intergrown translucent lathes intimately associated with the fibrous clinochrysotile
matrix!!! It was difficult to capture this specimen in the photos, however upon close inspection in person the
crystals are much more apparent!!! There is only ONE known specimen of roweite from the type locale - and this specimen is a part of
that original type specimen!!! This specimen is the second of a pair of specimens acquired from the personal
collection of James Zigras and retains a copy of the label as well!!! Extremely rare co-type material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
