Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of rutile and muscovite from this classic North Carolina locale!!! This specimen consists of a handsome cluster of gemmy muscovite crystals that hosts a showy 3.4cm rutile crystal prominently perched among them!!! The muscovite crystals show a characteristic deep green gem clarity on edge that is quite striking in person!!! The rutile crystal has intense color that ranges from orange-red to deep ruby red!!! The rutile crystal is glassy and has a complex habit that shows some partial twinning in areas and has an almost fibrous habit in others!!! This specimen is quite showy and dynamic in person - the pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
