An old time example of rutile from this seldom referenced German locality!!! This specimen consists of a schist and quartz matrix that hosts a
single blocky crystal of rutile!!! This locality is best known for producing the extraordinary galena specimens in the 1800's that are still
highly prized by collectors today - however this is a very unusual locality for rutile!!! The rutile crystal appears to be twinned and has
well defined faces and deep reddish brown color!!! This specimen retains an old label from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and affixed catalogue number as well!!! Rare old
material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
