Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of of rutile from a seldom referenced North Carolina locality!!! This specimen consists of a large, single crystal of
deep red rutile!!! This large crystal has numerous sharp, lustrous faces and is quite well crystallized!!! The remaining complex surfaces consist of a
thatchwork of contacts - among the contacted areas some matrix still remains, as well as a few small, pale blue kyanite crystals!!! For such a
large rutile crystal, this specimen has surprisingly lively red color!!! In person, one can see significant red flashes with in!!! This specimen
is quite characteristic in person - unlike any other I can think of!!! This specimen is in terrific condition and displays gorgeously!!! The pics
hardly do it justice!!! This specimen is from the collection of A.J. Beres!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
