A rare and unique old time example of rutile from Scotland!!! This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that hosts a rich coverage of green chlorite and red rutile
crystals!!! Aside from being a historic Scottish specimen, what makes this specimen so exceptional is that it hosts numerous incredible tangles of
unusually curvaceous rutile!!! Usually rutile crystals are straight as an arrow, rigid, and brittle - however this specimen hosts bright red crystals of rutile that are literally
braided amongst each other!!! There are several examples where the crystals are bent almost ninety degrees without breaking or even cracking - remaining gemmy throughout!!! This specimen
is simply unbelievable in person!!! These curvaceous, gemmy rutile crystals can be seen snaking their way all over this incredible, old time specimen!!! The pictures
don't even come close to doing this specimen justice!!! This specimen retains its original A.E. Seaman Museum labels as well as an even older, unattributed label!!! Must be seen in person
to be fully appreciated!!!
