An absolute, world-class smithsonite and mottramite from Tsumeb! This specimen consists of a vug of velvety green botryoidal mottramite, partially covered by the finest blue smithsonite Tsumeb has to offer. The smithsonite crystals are pseudocubic in form and are either gem clear, or have a unique translucent core, followed by an outer zone of gemmy smithsonite. This zonation, combined with the sharp crystal habit and modified edges, creates some of the most beautiful smithsonite I have ever seen. The outside of the specimen features a dense network of colorless prismatic needles of smithsonite, accompanied by meandering growths of green mottramite. This specimen simply could not be any finer. The pics don't even come close! A true, competition-worthy Tsumeb classic!
