Corundum var.Sapphire Ratnapura, Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka 1.75cm x 1.52cm x .5cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of sapphire from Sri Lanka!!! This specimen consists of a rare, twinned crystal of purple sapphire!!! This specimen is a partial, alluvial crystal but still shows marked definition and luster!!! The twinning is quite pronounced and distinct!!! The crystal has translucent to gemmy clarity and a light reddish purple color!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
